Prabath Eranga, the driver of late State Minister Sanath Nishantha was released on a surety bail of Rs.500,000 by the Welisara Magistrate’s Court today (5).
A statement from the driver of the late State Minister’s car which was involved in January 26 collision that claimed the lives of both State Minister Sanath Nishantha and the Police Officer attached to his security detail Anuradha Jayakodi, was taken by the Police the following day (January 26) and was placed in remand while he was receiving treatment at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama under Police protection.
