Lightning strike kills father of two in Jaffna
A father of two children was killed after being struck by lightning today in Atchuvely while preparing his farming land in Jaffna, police said.
The victim was identified as 41 year old Thiyakarajah Mathanabalan from Atchuvely. Police preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was ploughing when the incident happened.
The victim is also a driver attached to Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), Jaffna branch.
