A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Australian Federal Police and the Sri Lanka Police to facilitate cooperation in the prevention, investigation and enforcement of transnational organised crime.
The MOU is also aimed at promoting coordination of law enforcement activities, strengthening existing cooperation frameworks, promoting information and exchange of knowledge and capacity development.
Cabinet this week approved the proposal presented by Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala to enter into an MOU.
