President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed parlimentrian Vadivel Suresh as a Senior Advisor to him yesterday.
The MP is charged with responsibilities including overseeing the comprehensive integration of Upcountry Tamils into Sri Lankan society and addressing matters related to the Nuwara Eliya, Badulla & Ratnapura districts.
Mr Suresh who was also the General Secretary of the Jathika Estate Workers union and was elected to parliament under Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) ticket demanded the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa to apologize from residents of Madulsima, in the Badulla District, for not attending this year’s May Day Rally arranged there. The MP also had warned that if the opposition leader failed to apologize he would no longer remain in SJB.
