Maldives Sun Siyam Group has pledged US$200,000 to help Sri Lanka overcome the present calamity as a result of the devastating effect of cyclone Ditwah.
Its founder Ahmed Siyam Mohamed personally handed over $75,000 to Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mohamed Rizvi Hassen on Sunday, assuring that that the remaining assistance will follow shortly, according to media reports from Male.
Starting Monday, Sun Siyam Group said it will activate fundraising initiatives across all its companies and award winning resorts, expanding its role from donor to nationwide mobiliser. Sun Siyam also owns Sun Siyam Pasikuda, a hotel on Sri Lanka’s east coast.
