The Gampaha High Court today acquitted former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Thirukumar Nadesan over the case of a residence in Malwana, allegedly purchased by the former Minister to build a bunglaw in 2013.
The case in connection with the 16-acre plot of land with a luxury two-storeyed house at Mapitigama, Malwana was heard over seven years since the case was filed during the previous Yahapalanaya regime that assumed office in 2015.
Mr Rajapaksa and Mr Nadesan, husband of former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa were cited as the first and second respondents respectively in this case.
