Man arrested for killing elephants
A 22 year old was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) for killing elephants and possession of tusks in Peramankulam of the Vavuniya district, Police said today.
The STF officers of the Poovarasan Kulam Camp conducted a raid on Kulamkulam area, where they arrested a 22 year old Peramankulam, Kulamkulam resident for killing elephants, an endangered species and obtaining tuskers.
The raid was conducted by a group of STF officers , including the Acting Commander of the Puvarasankulam Camp, Inspector L. S. Gurusinghe, under the supervision of Jaffna Zonal Commanding Officer, D. D. K. Hettiarachchi.
