A man suspected of stealing motorbikes has been arrested in Aththidiya, Dehiwala Police said today (March 18).
The Mount Lavinia Crime Investigation Unit Police were examining motorcycles in the Aththidiya area, when they arrested a motorcyclist in possession of 10g 100mg of heroin.
Upon further investigation of the arrested 26 year old resident of Yashopura, Dehiwela, it was revealed that he had stolen motorcycles in Thalangama, Moratuwa and Mount Lavinia.
The Police have also discovered two of the stolen motorcycles. The suspect is to be produced to the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court today.
The Mount Lavinia Police are conducting further investigations to arrest another suspect who supported in the robbery, as revealed upon investigations.
