A 73-year-old man was killed and a woman injured after a landslide buried a house in Hamparawa, Bandarawela last night (31).
Police said the deceased was the house's owner. He along with his wife, son and a female relative were inside the house when the landslide occurred.
The house owner and the female relative suffered injuries in the incident and were admitted to the Bandarawela Hospital, where the owner succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as W.B.M. Jayasekara, a former civilian employee of the Sri Lanka Army and a father of three.
