The Metrology Department website had been hacked by including links to obscene material, but was corrected after the detection was made, an official said.
According to the official, the department was grappling with the issue from last Friday as the links posted were linked to pornographic material. However, after the detection action was taken to rectify it over the weekend. The matter was fully resolved today.
On Tuesday morning the Department website was not accessible as well.
The Met Department had called the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) to recover the website.
