The Department of Meteorology confirms that the temperature in several areas across the island is at the level that requires being extra vigilant today (April 17).
The department stated that the condition prevails in Eastern, North-central, North-western provinces as well as in several districts including Monaragala and Hambantota.
Meteorologists notified the general public to limit strenuous outdoor activities, consume mandatory amounts of water and properly follow the directives issued by health authorities.
