Several private banks have decided to restrict their services with closing branches for several days in view of the travel restrictions imposed.
Some of the banks have decided to close up for a week while some others are closing for two days with a decision to review their plans in the next few days.
A Hatton National Bank officer said their branches will be closed today (7) and tomorrow while a decision about Wednesday (9) will be taken later.
Seylan Bank said that bank branches will be closed from June 7 to 13 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Sampath Bank said that its branches will be closed from June 5 to 11. This includes the super branches.
Commercial Bank will close all its branches throughout this week until next Monday (14).
The NDB bank too will close its branches from June 7 to 11.
The Nations Trust Bank said it is closing its branches until June 12.
The Union Bank said its branches will remain closed until June 13 while Amana Bank will be closed until June 11.
All the banks have requested public to use their digital bank services.
