A motorcyclist has been arrested after he slashed the face of a police constable following a dispute over a traffic issue in the Anuglana area of Moratuwa.
The Policeman attached to the intelligence unit of the Angulana Police was driving a car and had requested the motorcyclist to move as he was obstructing the traffic.
Following an argument with the policeman he had pulled out a small knife and slashed the PC’s face. He was hospitalized.
The motorcyclist, a resident from the area operating a timber store in Angulana was arrested on Wednesday and due to be produced in courts.
SSP Mangala Dehideniya, in charge of the Mt Lavinia Division has ordered an inquiry.
