Reigning Mrs World Caroline Jurie and former model Chula Padmendra have been released on police bail.
The two were arrested by the Cinnamon Gardens Police earlier today over the incident that unfolded at the grand finale of the Mrs Sri Lanka pagent.
Pushpika De Silva, who was crowned the winner, has filed a police complaint that she suffered injuries when Ms Jurie and Ms Padmendra forcibly removed her crown from her head.
Ms Jurie had alleged that Ms De Silva was ineligible to hold the title of Mrs Sri Lanka as she was a divorcee, an allegation which Ms De Silva denies.
