Mrs World Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra arrested
Reigning Mrs World Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra have been arrested by the Cinnamon Gardens Police over the controversy that arose at the recent final of the Mrs Sri Lanka beauty pagent.
The two were involved in stripping the Mrs Sri Lanka crown from Pushpika De Silva, who had been adjudged the winner and crowning the first runner-up on stage.
Ms De Silva was recrowned by the organizers later. However, a police complaint has been lodged over the incident where she was stripped of her crown. Ms Jurie and Ms Padmendra were arrested following that complaint where Ms De Silva alleges she received head injuries when the crown was forcibly removed from her.
