A Muslim organisation today (26) held a demonstration outside the UN office in Colombo and handed over a petition protesting against the government decision to compulsory cremate bodies of persons dead due to COVID-19.
The group known as Muslim Left Front called for UN intervention to call on the government to change its decision.
The Government has already ruled that it would not change its decision regarding compulsory cremation of those persons whose deaths are caused due to COVID-19.
