The National Building and Research Organization (NBRO) has extended the landslide early alerts issued to several areas in nine districts based upon the rainfall thresholds across the island.
Hence, a Level 2 (Amber) warning was issued for several areas in the Badulla and Ratnapura districts.
* Badulla: Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSD) and nearby areas.
* Ratnapura: Kalawana, Kuruwita, Eheliyagoda, Elapatha and Ratnapura DSDs and areas close.
In parallel, the Level 1 (Yellow) warning delivered earlier for multiple areas has been protracted like so.
* Badulla: Bandarawela, Haputale, and Passara DSDs and neighbouring areas.
* Galle: Thawalama, Imaduwa, Bope Poddala, Neluwa, Yakkalamulla, Elpitiya, Niyagama, Akmeemana, Baddegana, Nagoda, Galle Four Gravets and Ambalangoda DSDs and adjoining areas.
* Hambantota: Beliatta, Okewela, Walasmulla and Katuwana DSDs and border areas.
* Kandy: Udadumbara, Pahathadumbara, Thumpane, Pasbage Korale, Harispattuwa and Udunuwara DSDs and the vicinity.
* Kegalle: Aranayaka, Mawanella, Bulathkohupitiya, Kegalle, Dehiowita, Yatiyanthota, Deraniyagala and Ruwanwella DSDs and adjacent areas.
* Matale: Ukuwela, Rattota and Matale DSDs and outlying areas.
* Matara: Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Hakmana, Malimbada, Akuressa, Athuraliya, Welipitiya, Pasgoda, Mulatiyana, Kamburupitiya, Kirinda, Puhuwella, Matara Four Gravets and Thihagoda DSDs and its surroundings.
* Nuwara Eliya: Ambagamuwa and Kotmale DSDs and surrounding areas.
* Ratnapura: Kiriella, Pelmadulla, Kolonna, Weligepola, Ayagama, Balangoda, Godakawela, Nivithigala,Openayake, Imbulpe and Kahawatta DSDs and the near vicinity.
