The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has alerted today that landslides may occur in several areas in Badulla, Matara and Kegalle districts.
Hence, a Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued for Haldummulla and Passara Divisional Secretariat divisions in Badulla district, Kotapola and Pasgoda Divisional Secretariat divisions in Matara district, Kotapola and Pasgoda Divisional Secretariat divisions in Kegalle district.
In view of the fact that the rainfall within the past 24 hours has crossed 75 mm, people living in the aforesaid areas have been requested to be on alert about the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock and earth mound falls and land subsidence.
