The National People’s Power (NPP) was heading for a landslide victory in the General election, with projections showing that the party has already gained the majority required in Parliament.
So far eight of the 22 districts results have been released officially, but most of the electorate level results in the other districts have been completed and only the final district results to be released..
Of the districts where results have been released the NPP has returned 52 members while the SJB has returned 10 members. The NDF returned one member from the Badulla district and the ITAK one member. UNP returned one member from Nuwara Eliya District
