The NPP will fully removed the Value Added Tax ( VAT) imposed on medicine, school equipment and food, the Party’s presidential candidate Anura Kumara Disaanayake said today.
He added the NPP will also reduce the price of electricity and fuel when it forms a government.
“ We can reduce costs if we work according to a plan,” Disaanayake said while addressing a rally in Kiribathgoda.
He said they can get taxes from those who are not a paying taxes. “ We will simplify the tax structure and widen the tax base and collect taxes to cover up for the taxes we are freeing essential items from,” he says,
