An 18-year-old male has been taken into custody by the the Police Special Task Force (STF) during a raid conducted in Mount Lavinia yesterday with several firearms and rounds of live ammunition.
Police said the suspect was arrested by officers from the Moratuwa STF camp along with a foreign-made pistol, a locally manufactured firearm modified to use 9mm ammunition, a T56 magazine and 30 live rounds of T56 ammunition.
The 18-year-old suspect is a resident of Mount Lavinia. He has been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police for further investigations.
