Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa yesterday proposed setting up of two banks which would be private-public partnerships.
Speaking during the SLPP Bala Mandala meeting in Borella , MP Rajapaksa proposed setting up of an investment bank and a development bank which would be in the form of public and private partnership.
“ Both the government and the private sector could own stakes in these two banks which would serve the interests of both large, small and medium scale businessmen. These would be set up to cater to needs of the changing world,” he said.
“ The development bank can provide long term and short term loans while the investment bank can assist Sri Lankan entrepreneurs who wish to invest overseas,” he added.
