The General Treasury’s Department of Project Management and Supervision has already started the preparatory work necessary to put the national evaluation policy into effect in the state sector starting in 2024.
It has been acknowledged that creating an institutional framework to carry out the said evaluation policy is appropriate in place of setting up a new entity, the Cabinet was informed.
However, it has been determined that a permanent national evaluation committee is required in order to allow independent decisions to be made at various points during the evaluation process and to yearly submit recommendations for evaluations carried out to the Parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers, as required, a note to the Cabinet said.
Thus, the Cabinet approved the President’s proposal to appoint a National Evaluation Monitoring Committee, chaired by the Secretary of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies, to submit information and recommendations.
