Navy nabbed another haul of Cannabis worth over 8 million in the seas off north of Mannar along with two suspects and a dingy yesterday (June 1).
Following a special patrol conducted in the area, 29 kilos and 800 grams of Kerala Cannabis were taken into the custody, Navy said.
Navy's North Central Command had foiled the smuggling attempt while intercepting a suspicious dinghy which was arriving landward. The illegal substance were found in 14 packs contained in two sacks.
Two suspects identified as the residents of Irukkalampiddi, Mannar were handed over to the Talaimannar Police for onward legal action along with the items seized, the news said.
The entire operation was conducted while adhering to the healthcare guidelines, the Navy said.
