The Sri Lanka Navy has placed 35 of its teams to move into areas vulnerable for floods as water levels were rising in some of the rivers including Kalutara, Ratnapura and Colombo areas.
Nine of the teams have been kept standby in the Galle, Hambantota and Tangalle areas.
The rest are in Kalutara, Ratnapura and Colombo where water levels in the main rivers have been rising.
