The Navy has recovered over 85 kilograms of Kerala Ganja with an estimated street value of Rs. 28 million hidden along the Mandathivu coast in Jaffna.
A group of Navy personnel on patrol along the southern section of Mandathivu coast yesterday (8) had observed a number of sacks hidden in a small forested section of coast.
Upon closer inspection, the naval troops had found 22 sacks containing Kerala Ganja at the location.
The Navy suspects that the stock of ganja had been smuggled by boat from India and that the smugglers had fled leaving the consignment behind after observing Navy personnel in the area.
