Two new Chief Secretaries have been appointed for the Eastern Province and the North Central Province.
T.A.C.N. Thalangama,who previously served as the Additional Secretary of the Fisheries Ministry, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province and J.M. Jayasinghe, formerly the Kegalle District Secretary, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the North Central Province.
The appointments were made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and the respective appointment letters were presented by the President's Secretary, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, yesterday (31st) afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat.

The Yala National Park has been closed until further notice in view of the heavy rains experienced in the area, Warden of the park Manoj Vidyaratne said.
