Newly appointed District Secretary of Batticaloa district J.S. Arulraj assumed duties today at the District Secretariat office(26).
His appointment came following the retirement of outgoing Secretary Mrs. J. J. Muralitharan, who retired from public service with effect from yesterday (25).
Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government secured cabinet approval on September 19 to appoint J. S. Arulraj, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who was currently serving as the Secretary to the Governor of the Eastern Province, as the new District Secretary of Batticaloa District.
