New Ministers and Secretaries assumed duties in the respective ministries today.
Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya assumed duties as the Health Minister. She was also appointed as the subject minister in charge of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, Local Councils and Labor, Education, Science and Technology and Trade. She is to visit other ministries later in the day.
Mr Vijitha Herath too assumed duties at the Media Ministry and Public Security . He is also in charge of miniseries such as Buddhasasana and Religious and Cultural Affairs, National Integration, Foreign Affairs, Environment, Wldlife and Forest Resources, Water Supply, Plantation and community infrastructure. He also would visit his other ministries later in the day.
K.M Mahinda Siriwardena assumed duties as the secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Policy Making, Planning and Tourism.
Apart from that ministry secretaries of the other respective ministries too assumed duties.
The media Ministry too appointed Dr Senesh Dissanayake Bandra as chairman of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.
Journalist Priyantha Vedamulla has been appointed as the Chairman of the Independent Television Network.
