A new online system was introduced today at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to allow arriving passengers to leave the airport within 20 seconds.
The online system was inaugurated by State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development D.V. Chanaka this afternoon.
Passengers visiting Sri Lanka can provide their details from their respective countries, while onboard their flight or upon arriving in the country by accessing this system through the following link at https://www.airport.lk/index and https://www.airport.lk/health_declaration/index
Passengers can upload details pertaining to them by accessing the QR Code on display at the Arrival Lounge.
Accordingly, they must their proof of vaccination card and results of a PCR test done 72 hours prior to arriving in Sri Lanka.
This eliminates the need for passengers to waste time in queues, attending to a mountain of paperwork and transmit information using other devices.
The new system allows passengers to exit the airport within 20 seconds, minimising the risk of COVID-19 infection.
Passengers will also be able to convey this information to security guards on duty at the airport gates and exit the airport quickly, it was also stated.
