Mr. Nihal Ranasinghe, a Special Grade Officer of Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) assumed duties as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Justice today (3).
Graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Sp) in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) and having a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a Merit Pass from the Post Graduate Institute of Management of USJ, Mr. Ranasinghe counts 32 years of experience in various capacities and positions in public service.
He served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Education before he took up his position as Secretary to the Ministry of Justice.

The Government today tabled in the House the Report of the Commission to Inquiry into the Establishment and Maintenance of Unlawful Places of Detention and Torture Chambers in the Batalanda Housing Scheme.
