No major damage was caused by the fire which broke at the National Library and Documentation Services Board of Sri Lanka in Colombo 7.
The fire had broken out near the assembly hall on the ground floor of the National Library and was likely due to an electrical fault, its Director General Mr. W.Sunil said.
Several firefighting trucks were sent in to put out the fire, according to the Fire Service Department.
