Northern-based journalists staged 'Black January' protest today demanding justice for the killing, abductions and torture of journalists in past.
Journalists from Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Vavuniya took part in the protest today at Jaffna town. They also issued posters detailing the past crimes committed against the journalists in the country among the public.
In addition to journalists, civil society representatives and the public also participated in the protests. Posters of assassinated journalists were also displayed in front of the bus station. (Pix by N. Lohathayalan)
