A suspect responsible for many crimes was arrested in Meetiyagoda while transporting heroin, the Special Task Force (STF) said today (February 21).
In a raid conducted by the officials of the STF Special Mission 11 in Koriyawila yesterday, a 32 year old suspect was arrested while transporting 8g 110 mg of heroin on a motorbike.
The suspect has been responsible for attacking and wounding Handunnetti Danishta Roshan with a sword at Meetiyagoda on July 15, 2009 and shooting and wounding Prasad Chanaka Kumara of Meetiyagoda on June 7, 2014
He is also known for the shooting and murder of a businessman in the Ambalantota fishing port on March 28, 2016. He has also been arrested on multiple instances for possession of firearms.
The suspect was handed over to the Meetiyagoda Police for further investigation.
