An ongoing strike by National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) employees may affect water supplies, the Water Supply Trade Union Alliance (WSTUA) warned.
The strike has been set in motion requesting the payments related to the days they engaged in official activities without taking medical leave to be completed.
The convenor of the WSTUA Mr. Upali Ratnayake stated that no official activities or consumer services would be carried out while the water supply might be disrupted owing to the ongoing trade union action.
He said that its responsibility should be taken by the respective authorities.
