More than 35 acres were destroyed in a fire in a forest reserve in the Peradeniya police area on Sunday.
The reserve known as ‘Bimal Kele’ had spread fast due to strong winds.
Police with the help of Wildlife, Forest Department and Disaster Management officials controlled fire without spreading further.
