According to the Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles, 83 individuals have been placed under arrest as a result of the special police operations initiated this morning (17) around the island.
Minister Alles revealed that 45 suspects were wanted in connection with narcotics-related offenses.
Under Minister Alles’ directives, Sri Lanka Police has launched a special operation to combat drug trafficking and underworld activities in the country.

The price of Lanka Petrol 92 Octane has been reduced by Rs. 5, while the price of Lanka Super Diesel Star Euro 4 has been increased by Rs. 5, from midnight today, October 31, 2025, according to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
