Sea food trader killed at Ambalangoda
A businessman was shot near the Ambalangoda Urban Council premises succumbed to his injuries today morning.
He was identified as a person who carried out a sea food trading related business, police media said.
According to them the man was admitted to Balapitiya hospital following the shooting where he passed away.
Police added that the preliminary investigations have revealed that the attack was carried out by a group that arrived in a red colored car and fled the scene immediately after.
The car was found abandoned later.
The police are carrying out investigations to determine whether the suspect was killed by underworld gang, and whether the deceased was linked to an underworld gang.
So far this year more than 100 shooting incidents have taken place claiming over 55 lives.
