A total of 9,107 persons have been administered with the third dose of COVID vaccine, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.
Yesterday (2), over 6.300 frontline health workers received the booster vaccine both at the Army Hospital, major hospitals and at vaccination centres under the Colombo Municipal Council.
According to the Unit, 10 million Lankans have received the second dose of Chinese-made Sinopharm, 1.4 million have received the second dose of AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine, 155,765 persons administered with the second dose of Sputnik-V vaccine, 441,913 with Pfizer vaccine and 782,351 persons with Moderna vaccine against COVID-19.
The Health Ministry announced that the Pfizer vaccine will be administered to frontline workers and those above 60 years as a third booster vaccine.
