Effective from midnight today, on arrival PCR tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated local and foreign arrivals if they test negative prior to departure, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
The minister tweeted that on arrival PCR tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated arrivals provided that passengers test negative in a PCR test conducted 72 hours prior to departure. Arrivals should be fully vaccinated with the second dose administered two weeks prior to arrival, he added.
The decision to relax PCR and health guidelines for fully vaccinated arrivals was taken after a discussion between Health and Tourism Ministry officials along with tourism industry representatives held today.
