Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Jaffna on July 31 and August 1, the PM office said. This would be his first visit to the district since the Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP) led government took office was last year.
During his visit, Prime Minister Rajapaksa will inaugurate a desalination plant in Thalaiyadi and hand over houses and deeds to newly resettled families in the district, according to G. Cassilingham, Coordinating Secretary to the Prime Minister.
