Parliament will hold an adjournment debate tomorrow (4) on the prevailing disaster situation caused by recent adverse weather conditions.
The decision was reached during a party leaders' meting held today under the chairmanship of the Speaker Dr. Asoka Ranwala. The debate will be held from 5.30pm to 9.30pm tomorrow.
Accordingly, as per the schedule previously decided, the debate on the Government Policy Statement presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Parliament recently will be continued tomorrow from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Following the vote scheduled at 5:00pm, the adjournment debate proposed by the Opposition will commence at 5:30pm as agreed, Parliament's Communications Department said.
