A party organized through the Facebook where narcotics were shared among some of the participants has been raided in the Panwila area with the assistance of three police stations in the early hours of Sunday.
At least 12 suspects were taken into custody during the raid conducted at a hotel in Madulkele.
The raid was carried out on a tip-off via 119 emergency number by Policemen from Panwila, Rangala and Wattegama areas.
Ninety-eight males and 13 females who participated in the party were checked and 12 of them were arrested for the possession of drugs.
The suspects had a variety of drugs with them including ICE
Police are carrying out further investigations.
