A writ petition filed in front of the Court of Appeal seeking an order to declare State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage is not qualified to be a Member of Parliament was dismissed by the Court today.
The Court’s majority decision also noted that the MP can continue to serve in her capacity as MP.
Earlier, State Minister Gamage filed a petition requesting the apex court to issue an order nullifying the decision taken by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya to deprive her of her position as an MP as well.
