Police have arrested another suspect linked to the murder of alleged underworld figure Amila Prasanga Hettihewa alias "Sunshine Sudda."
The suspect was taken into custody from Thamuttegama by officers from the Murder and Organised Crime Investigation Unit.
Investigations have revealed that the suspect had acted as the driver of the van used by the killers, led by alleged rival underworld figure Hewadunuvilage Lasantha alias "Tinker Lasantha," Police Media Unit said.
Police also seized a three-wheeler, a mobile phone and cash amounting to over Rs. 1 million from the suspect's possession, a media release added.
The 43-year-old suspect is a resident of Samitpura, Mattakkuliya and is due to be produced before the Welisara Magistrate's Court today.
"Sunshine Sudda" was shot and killed in Kotawala on September 3.
