The police have requested motorists to use substitute roads as the Biyagama area has been inundated with water following the flooding of Kelaniya river.
The police said that around 1620 persons of 682 houses have been displaced. They added that Malwana, Yabaraluwa North and south, Biyagama east and west have been affected by the floods.
Accordingly the Biyagama Kelaniya road from Bandarawatta junction to Raggahawatta Bridge, Bandarawatta junction to Malwana junction, Rakshapana area in Malwana Colombo road and new Kandy road near Yabaraluwa area were inundated by water.
