Police funeral for ‘Lista’

The Police held a funeral for a Police golden retriever dog named “Lista”, who had died on Wednesday (November 23) while undergoing treatment for an illness.

Born on November 1, 2017 in the Netherlands, it served in the Sri Lanka Police from September 24, 2018, bearing the number 1371 under Police Constable Chamila, having trained in drug examination duties, serving in the Katunayake Airport and even religious events like Kandy Esala Perahera.

On a permanent transfer to Galle, Lista was capable of detecting drugs in 302 raids, including 75 g of heroin in Gintota and 113 heroin packets in Dodanduwa. In addition, Lista also acted in a teledrama named “Hathe Kalliya” on Rupavahini.

A funeral was held for the deceased 5 year old dog on Wednesday, on the same day as its death, where it was buried in the premises of the Sri Lanka Police Kennels Unit, with all due respect.
