Police have made major breakthrough the recent murder of a youth in Kahawatta and established that he was killed as he voiced his concern over the drug menace in the area.
Four persons reportedly involved in the murder have been arrested and the jeep used for the abduction of the youth has been found.
The gang had posed off as policemen and abducted a 22-year-old youth and his friend. They were taken into a forest area and shot. The 22 year old youth was killed while the other escaped with injuries.
The shooting had been reportedly carried out by a gang associated with a criminal operating from Dubai.
The youth killed had voiced his concern about the spread of drugs in his village earlier.
The suspects arrested had been contracted by the gang leader in Dubai involved in drug trafficking
The Western Province Northern Crimes Division which made the breakthrough is conducting investigations.
