The broker of the 16-year-old domestic aide who died of burn injuries while working at the residence of MP Rishad Bathiudeen is to be questioned by the Borella Police today (19) as part of the ongoing investigations about the death.
On Sunday the statements of the father-in-law and mother-in-law were recorded by the Borella police.
Police are due to report the findings to the Magisterial courts today.
Meanwhile Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said that the postmortem report has revealed that there was a chronic vaginal penetration in the victim and that further investigations are underway.
In a related development a protest was held on Sunday in Hatton demanding that action be taken against those responsible for sexually abusing the domestic aide.
The 16-year-old had died on July 15 of burn injuries while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital. She was admitted on July 3.
The girl had been brought to the parliamentarian’s residence at Bauddhaloka Mawatha for domestic work last October from the Dayagama area.
