The police warned the public that they are taking legal actions against persons who unlawfully engage in collecting and selling fuel.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the Police Special Task Force had carried out 670 raids to nab 675 suspects who were collecting fuel and selling it for high prices.
He elaborated the suspects were possessing 21,636 liters of Petrol, 33462 liters of diesel and 1100 liters of Kerosene.
He further explained that they would seek the help of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and take legal action against the suspects who engage in illegal fuel sale rackets.
